Every Saturday at 11am at Martindale Gurdwara Sahib.

The new commitee of Gurdwara Sahib Dashmesh Culture Center would like any youth that are willing to devote some of their time to attend a weekly meeting at Gurdwara Sahib Dashmesh Culture Center.  This meeting will be used as a springboard to launch new and innovative ideas and create sub-committies during the committee's term and longer term.

If you are interested in doing Seva for your faith and community and know of others who are interested please attend.

Youth
Committee: GOAL: Creating a more efficient and
organized community.

Positions Available:

Committee
Coordinator:

GOAL: Efficiency and organizations among
the Sikh community

-In charge of coordinating weekly meetings

-In charge of communicating directly with
President of Executive committee

-Insuring efficiency within the Committee
and its volunteers

-Recognizing the needs of the community and
taking initiative to solve problems

Magazine
Coordinator:

GOAL: Create a transparent environment and
a connected community

-Creating articles which discuss problems,
successes, needs, and projects within the Sikh community

-Working with other coordinators to create
a completely informative magazine

-Using creative methods to reach out to the
community (eg...surveys, quizzes, volunteer opportunities, job opportunities,
"what's going on in the Gurdwara this week, etc...")

Events
Coordinator:

GOAL: Increase community connectedness and
fundraising

-Coordinating creative events to involve
all demographics of the Sikh community

-Working with the Committee Coordinator to
increase fundraising

-Events may include sports, sales, games,
speaking engagements, educational tutorials, etc)

Volunteer
Coordinator:

GOAL: Increase volunteers in the community,
especially from untapped demographics

-In charge of keeping a list of all
volunteers and their information

-In charge of seeking out new volunteers
from all demographics of the Sikh community

-Working with the information Processor to
record all the information within the Computer

-Creating certificates (among other things)
to celebrate the achievements of all volunteers

Information
Processor:

GOAL: Create a more transparent and
efficient system of storing information

-In charge entering all information into
the computer (receipt information, accounting information, etc)

-Storing all membership information

Tours Coordinator:

GOAL: Create a friendly atmosphere among
the greater community and help educate others about the beauty of our culture
and the Sikh religion

-Setting up
school/individual/organizational tours

-Giving tours of the Gurdwara

-Tapping into new markets to educate others
